Prison inmate caught in Vegas 2 mos. after escape

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities in Las Vegas say they’ve caught a 31-year-old inmate who escaped from a prison work crew almost two months ago.

Officials with the Las Vegas police Criminal Apprehension Team say they found Spike BrownMonday at the Alexis Park hotel a few blocks from the Las Vegas Strip.

Brown was one of two inmates who escaped from the work crew in the Las Vegas area May 9. The 29-year-old Jonathan Jackson was found two days later, but Brown was at large until Monday.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Brown was serving a multi-year sentence for possession of stolen property and being an ex-felon with a firearm.
