Police are searching for a convicted arsonist who escaped from a minimum-security work facility Monday.Jacob Affleje walked away from an Edinburgh Correctional Facility offender work crew on the grounds of Camp Atterbury, Fran Osburn, superintendent of the facility, said in a news release.Affleje is a 5-foot-11-inch, 170-pound white male with short black hair and brown eyes. He has several noticeable tattoos, including Asian symbols of unknown meaning on both hands, and another on his lower left arm with the inscription “RIP TINY JO-JO.”
Affleje, who was due to be released July 7, was assigned to the warehouse/state maintenance facility inside Camp Atterbury when he went missing early Monday afternoon.Officials said a 1998 black Chevrolet Blazer with Indiana license No. XE6590 was stolen from Camp Atturbury Monday afternoon and police believe Affleje may have be driving the SUV.Law enforcement agencies are asking anyone with information concerning Affleje’s whereabouts to call the Command Post at the Edinburgh Correctional Facility at 812-526-8434, ext.201.
