 SOMERS — Four corrections officers were injured Friday afternoon at the Northern Correctional Institution when an inmate at the prison struck an officer, a Department of Correction spokesman said.


The attack occurred as officers were moving an inmate within the prison, said Brian Garnett, a DOC spokesman. The inmate was in restraints and when the restraints were removed, the prisoner lashed out and struck a correction officer in the head, Garnett said.
