An inmate believed to have escaped from Jackie Brannon Correctional Center Monday morning has been recaptured.

Mark Dwayne Smith Jr., 28, and was discovered missing during a 6 a.m. inmate count Monday.

This morning, prison officials report he has been recaptured.

Smith, who has been at JBCC since April 2009, is serving prison sentences for Tulsa County convictions for assault and battery on a police officer and auto theft, prison officials said.
