Women's prison inmate accused of sliming jail employee
A South Dakota women's prison inmate faces two assault charges, both allegedly involving the offense commonly known as "sliming."
Twenty-nine-year-old Danielle Strong is accused of throwing, spitting or smearing bodily fluids on a jail employee April 9. Each felony charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
Corrections officials say Strong initially was imprisoned in 2003 on a simple assault charge out of Yankton County. In May 2004 she had another two years added to her sentence for spitting on an employee and in 2006 she was given five more years for aggravated assault on a staff member.
Strong's attorney, Jack Magee, did not immediately return a telephone call to The Associated Press on Thursday.
